Scientist II, Life Sciences Research
will lead research projects for early-stage biopharmaceutical partners. This role involves performing complex computational analyses and providing insights to guide decision-making for biopharma clients. The ideal candidate will have strong genomic analytical skills and be able to communicate scientific findings effectively to stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
Independently execute complex translational research projects combining molecular and clinical data to derive insights for biopharma partners. Present scientific findings clearly to diverse external stakeholders. Stay current with industry trends and apply new knowledge to enhance research methodologies. Qualifications
PhD in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Biostatistics, Genetic, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology) or Molecular Biology/Immunology with strong computational experience; or MSc with 4+ years industry experience. Proficiency in R (including Rmd or RShiny preferred). Excellent communication skills for presenting complex information. Preferred Skills and Background
Understanding of molecular data and AI in drug discovery; experience with multi-modal clinical and omics data. Experience with large transcriptome and NGS datasets. Client-facing or consulting experience is a plus. Ability to work collaboratively and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Experience with R package development and relevant tools (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, etc.). Strong publication record. Salary ranges vary by location: California $100,000 - $150,000; Illinois $90,000 - $135,000. Tempus offers comprehensive benefits.
