🔄 Assignment Overview: Category Details Unit(s) Primary: ICU (8-bed) Will float to ER – experience in both required Shifts 12-hour days/nights – 07:00–19:30 / 19:00–07:30 Report is bedside Scheduling Self-scheduling, finalized by manager Schedules out 4 weeks OT & extra shifts available Weekend Requirement Every other weekend Holiday Requirement Rotate with core staff Scrub Color Navy (undershirts: navy, white, or black; jackets optional, navy only)
Charge nurses acceptable
PRN via external staffing agencies is acceptable
🧠 Relias DYS Exam (Required Before Offer Acceptance):
Must be completed within 24–48 hours of offer
2 attempts allowed:
Test A first
Test B for retake if needed
Pass/fail
Screenshot of attempt count is required
If failed twice: Candidate becomes DNU for CommonSpirit AZ & Sacramento
Previously passed Relias Dys exam within last 12 months is acceptable
🩺 Clinical Requirements & Unit Details: Experience Required Minimum 2 years ICU experience + ER experience Certifications BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (PALS preferred) Patient Ratio 1:1 – 1:2 Telemetry Yes – must be able to read & interpret EKG strips Vents Yes Hospitalist/Intensivist Yes, in-house Nurse Aides Yes, based on census Charge Nurse Yes – usually non-patient care, but may help with break relief RT & Pharmacy Available 24/7 Orientation 1–2 days on the floor with a preceptor EMR Cerner Layout Horseshoe layout; PACU adjacent to ICU
🏥 Floating Expectations:
May float to all other CommonSpirit Sacramento facilities
Mid-shift float is rare, but possible
🦠 COVID-19 Vaccine Policy:
Medical declination: Allowed with physician’s note
Religious declination: Allowed, no documentation required
