Summary: The Principal Product Manager, SIS Digital Platforms is a senior-level position responsible for setting and executing the strategic direction of one or more complex products across the organization. This role leads the product lifecycle from concept to launch and continuous improvement, aligning technology solutions with business goals. The Principal Product Manager serves as a bridge between stakeholders, development teams, and leadership to ensure that product initiatives deliver measurable value, are user-centric, and align with long-term business objectives. This position requires a deep understanding of enterprise product development, strong leadership skills, and the ability to navigate cross-functional environments. The Principal Product Manager plays a key role in guiding teams through ambiguity, managing competing priorities, and delivering scalable, innovative solutions. Duties and Responsibilities: Product Strategy & Road Mapping Define and communicate a compelling product vision and long-term roadmap.
Align product initiatives with business strategy, customer needs, and market opportunities.
Conduct competitive analysis, user research, and market trend assessments to inform strategy.
Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and feedback.
Translate complex business needs into clear, actionable product requirements and priorities.
Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, advocating for both customer and business interests.
Cross-Functional Leadership Lead cross-disciplinary teams—including engineering, design, QA, and business units—through the full product lifecycle.
Facilitate communication, alignment, and decision-making across technical and non-technical teams.
Ensure product delivery aligns with timelines, scope, and quality expectations.
Agile Product Delivery Champion agile product development practices, including backlog management, sprint planning, and iteration reviews.
Maintain a healthy and prioritized product backlog that reflects evolving stakeholder needs and business goals.
Monitor product performance using KPIs and metrics to drive continuous improvement.
Risk & Compliance Management Identify and mitigate risks related to product delivery, technical dependencies, or business continuity.
Ensure products comply with legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements.
Mentorship & Thought Leadership Mentor and support product managers and product owners, fostering a collaborative and high-performing product organization.
Promote best practices in product management, user-centered design, and agile methodologies.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation Regularly assess product outcomes and user satisfaction to identify areas for enhancement.
Encourage a culture of experimentation, iteration, and continuous learning within product teams.

An effective and persuasive communicator (written, verbal, visual on camera, e-mail, etc.), who is skilled at leading meetings and making presentations
Able to work independently, with a team, and with stakeholders at all levels while remote

Must be able to grasp the big picture vision and have the drive to make that vision a reality
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with many moving parts where information, resources, and priorities can change quickly or be ambiguous

Demonstrated use and mastery of business analysis and requirements gathering techniques, such as problem statements, workshops, journey mapping, current/future state process flows, cost/benefit analysis, use cases, entity diagrams, etc.
Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, translate high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
Able to partner with non-technical business leaders to translate their needs into a solution
Experience documenting and managing requirements using multiple methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall, Iterative, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests, and manage laterally and upwards
Education & Experience Requirements
: Experience: Five years of relevant professional experience, preferably writing formal business/functional requirements and user stories utilizing agile PM/requirements tools (Azure DevOps, JIRA, etc.)
Five years of experience in higher education
Experience analyzing customer data and turning it into actionable insights
Experience participating in agile and scrum processes and methods.
