Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. **Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.** * * RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated ** Department: ICU RN *Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS* ** # of Beds: 33 beds, average daily census is 16 Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2-3 for adults, - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, respiratory distress - Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Any cardiac drip, insulin, sedation - Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Health Support Tech M-F 0800-1630 - RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.)
Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?: Nasal cannula to vent - Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: RNs required to read and interpret - Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 0630-1830, 1830-0630 // Self scheduling for core staff, travelers added in. Unable to guarantee block scheduling - Weekend Requirements: Every other - Holiday Requirements: Rotating based on weekend group - Floating Requirements: Typically to PCU, possibly to MedSurg - How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 3 shifts RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
