ICU RN needed for a 42-bed MedSurg ICU in a Level 2 trauma facility. Start date 11/17 (not flexible). Patient ratios 1:1 or 1:2 for vent/drip patients, 1:3 if stable. Epic EMR proficiency within the last 2 years required. Must live outside a 100-mile radius.
Responsibilities
Provide critical care for patients with complex diagnoses including cardiac (open heart, balloon pump, impella), vent management, sedation, sepsis, pressors, DKA, CHF, and respiratory failure
Titrate and manage a wide range of ICU drips, including vasopressors, inotropes, antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, sedatives, paralytics, analgesics, anticoagulants, and insulin
Collaborate with intensivists, RTs, PCAs, and multidisciplinary teams
Respond to codes and rapid response calls
Float to other units as needed (reduced patient load when floated) Required Experience
Recent ICU experience with proficiency in vent, sedation, and pressor management
Experience with diverse critical care drips
Epic EMR within the last 2 years
Skills
Advanced critical care and ventilator management
Drip titration across multiple drug classes
Cardiac monitoring and post-procedure care
Strong teamwork and adaptability for floating to other units
Education
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Licenses & Certifications
Active RN license (state-specific or compact) BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Additional Information
Shift: 6:45 AM–7:15 PM / 6:45 PM–7:15 AM (must clock out for lunch) Scheduling: Self-schedule; up to 4 requested days off in a 4-week period; no block scheduling guarantee
Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
Holiday Requirement: Must work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s) No call requirement
Navy blue scrubs required
Orientation: 1 day NEO, 1 day educator skills/competencies, 1 day on floor
