Weekly Breakdown:
Weekly Gross: $2,305.00 Per Week
On W2(Taxable): $828.00 Per Week
Stipend(Non-Taxable): $1,477.00 Per Week
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced
Registered Nurse (RN) with a strong background in
Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele) nursing. This is a
mixed-acuity
unit that manages both
Med-Surg and PCU-level
patients, primarily post-surgical oncology cases. The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility, critical thinking, and a commitment to high-quality patient care. This travel assignment offers a dynamic and fast-paced environment with opportunities for professional growth in oncology and surgical nursing.
Job Duties:
Deliver safe and effective nursing care to
post-surgical oncology
patients across a range of cancer diagnoses including colorectal, hepatobiliary, plastics, and cardiothoracic.
Monitor and interpret telemetry for cardiac rhythm irregularities and intervene per protocol.
Administer medications including
IV antibiotics
,
insulin drips
, and
heparin drips
.
Provide supportive care in oncologic emergencies such as
cytokine release syndrome
.
Perform clinical procedures including
blood transfusions
,
chest tube care
, and
tracheostomy management
.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, IV team, and case management.
Follow infection prevention protocols rigorously and implement fall prevention strategies.
Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately using the
EPIC
electronic charting system.
Participate in unit self-scheduling and float to other acute oncology units as needed.
Attend and complete orientation as outlined by facility standards.
Required Skills:
Med-Surg and Telemetry nursing
Cardiac rhythm interpretation and dysrhythmia management
Tracheostomy and respiratory device care
Heparin and insulin drip protocols
IV medication administration and blood transfusions
Management of post-surgical oncology patients
Infection control and fall prevention strategies
Proficiency in EPIC charting system
Certifications:
Basic Life Support ( BLS ) – American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support ( ACLS ) RequirementsExperience: Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience
Oncology experience: Preferred
Licensure: Active Compact or Ohio RN license required at time of submission
