$60,000 – $75,000, commensurate with experience About TYSA Transylvania Youth Soccer Association (TYSA) is a North Carolina 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Brevard, NC. Serving Transylvania County and surrounding communities, TYSA empowers youth through the sport of soccer—developing character, promoting physical and mental well-being, and fostering personal growth and joy. Mission Statement TYSA’s mission is to empower youth to develop character, promote mental and physical well-being, and experience joy and personal growth through the sport of soccer. Position Summary The Executive Director (ED) is the principal on-site leader and chief administrator of TYSA, responsible for the effective leadership, strategic planning, and day-to-day operations of the organization. The ED serves as the primary point of contact for community stakeholders, partners, and North Carolina Youth Soccer Association (NCYSA), ensuring TYSA fulfills its mission with excellence and integrity. The ED works in close partnership with a thirteen-member Board of Directors and is expected to lead the organization with vision, accountability, and professionalism. Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Governance

Partner with the Board of Directors to implement strategic plans and ensure effective governance. Organize and lead monthly Board meetings and the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Represent TYSA publicly and serve as the liaison to NCYSA. Program & Staff Oversight

Oversee all soccer programs: Recreational, Academy, and Classic. Hire, train, and manage program directors, coaches, and volunteers. Ensure SafeSport training, background checks, and full compliance with risk management policies. Design and execute fundraising strategies including sponsorships, events, and donor campaigns. Identify and apply for grants aligned with TYSA’s mission. Build and maintain relationships with community partners, donors, and sponsors. Serve as Risk Management Coordinator. Supervise all registration processes through NCYSA for players, coaches, and volunteers. Maintain compliance documentation including rosters, forms, and team credentials. Collaborate with the Board Treasurer to develop and manage the annual budget. Maintain accurate bookkeeping and provide monthly financial reports to the Board. Ensure timely renewal of licenses, insurance, and registrations. Communications & Community Relations

Promote TYSA through outreach, public speaking, and community engagement. Manage all communications including website (WordPress), email campaigns, and social media platforms. Enhance visibility and credibility through consistent branding and storytelling. Operations & Administration

Manage internal systems including Google Workspace, Canva, and NCYSA platforms. Coordinate facility usage (e.g., Ecusta Field) with local and municipal partners. Ensure full organizational compliance with local, state, and national requirements. Other Duties

Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Board of Directors. Required Qualifications

Proven experience in nonprofit or youth sports leadership. Demonstrated success in fundraising and donor development. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience with budgeting, financial management, and reporting. Proficiency with digital tools (Google Workspace, Canva, WordPress, etc.). Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and be physically present in the community. Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with NCYSA and USYS structures. Experience with sports registration and compliance systems. Background in nonprofit management, education, public administration, or sports leadership. Knowledge of Brevard and Transylvania County stakeholders and community dynamics. Based in Brevard, NC with a strong presence in the local community. Some evenings and weekends required for games, meetings, and events. Mandatory attendance at Board meetings and the AGM. Access provided to all required digital platforms and tools. Compensation Annual salary range:
