Program Overview
About The Role
Peraton is seeking a highly skilled
Lead Network Engineer
to oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-wide network infrastructure. This individual will lead a team of network engineers, providing Tier 1-3 support in a primarily Cisco-based environment, while ensuring the network meets required service level uptime through proactive monitoring, incident response, and system upgrades.
Day to Day Roles and Responsibilities:
Lead a team of network engineers supporting a secure, scalable, and highly available network infrastructure Deliver Tier 1-3 network support, leveraging manufacturer support contracts as needed Monitor and respond to alerts via SolarWinds Orion; log incidents in the Service Desk system Oversee lifecycle management of network hardware, replacing end-of-life or unsupported equipment Ensure on-site coverage during core hours at required facilities Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and strategic direction to the network engineering team Comply with and contribute to established system administration procedures Collaborate with Customer on recommendations for network performance, procedures, and security improvements
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience, or a Master's degree and 6 years of experience, or High school diploma/equivalent and 12 years of experience U.S. Citizenship required; must have an active Secret clearance Strong hands-on experience with configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and enterprise networking tools such as SolarWinds, as well as working knowledge of LAN/WAN, VPNs, and TCP/IP protocols. Certifications: Current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or higher (e.g., CCNP). Preferred Qualifications:
CompTIA Network+/CompTIA A+ Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range
Details
Target Salary Range: $135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
