https://www.jnj.com/innovative-medicine Position Summary: The Sr. Director, Head of Master Data Management is responsible for the strategy, governance, and operational excellence of master data assets across customer, account, product, patient, and related domains. Reporting to the VP, Data Strategy and Platforms, this leader ensures that high-quality, trusted master data is available to drive timely, data-driven decisions and enable enterprise innovation. The role is accountable for advancing data stewardship and governance, developing strong data partnerships, and supporting digital transformation by ensuring master data integrity, adequacy, and accessibility. Key Responsibilities: Master Data Management Strategy: Spearhead the creation and execution of a forward-thinking master data management strategy, ensuring data availability, adequacy, and quality in support of current and future business priorities. Master Data Optimization: Oversee the enhancement and strategic use of the organization’s master data by identifying potential gaps, data quality issues, and opportunities for strategic data partnerships or acquisitions. Custodianship of Master Data: Serve as the custodian of master data for customer, account, product, patient, and related domains, ensuring high-quality, reliable data is available to support timely and effective decision-making. Data Quality and Service Levels: Establish data quality SLAs and metrics with data partners, as well as operational level agreements (OLAs) with internal teams, to ensure stakeholders receive high-quality data when they need it. Stewardship and Governance: Lead the implementation of robust data stewardship and governance practices across all platforms, vendors, and technology solutions. Ensure that data is consistently managed and governed throughout its lifecycle, providing regular performance metrics and governance reports to senior leadership. Strategic Communication and Reporting: Communicate progress, challenges, and achievements to executive leadership. Offer actionable insights and recommendations to inform strategic decision-making and continuous improvement. Technology Evaluation and Partnership: Partner with JJT and technology stakeholders to evaluate and select cutting-edge solutions supporting Master Data Management initiatives and processes. Qualifications: Master’s or PhD in in information management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field. 10+ years of experience in data management, governance or related roles. Strong expertise in master data management strategy principles, frameworks, and best practices. Familiarity with pharmaceutical data vendors and their respective data offerings. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to influence and drive change in a complex organizational environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and manage data-related risks. Certification in data governance or related areas (e.g., DM-BOK, CDMP, etc.) Other : Travel – Less than 25% to conferences and key internal meetings Strategic Impact: By embedding enterprise-grade master data management, the Sr. Director, Head of MDM ensures trusted, harmonized, and actionable data assets underpin R&D decision-making, accelerate innovation, and enable seamless data integration across the value chain. This role is pivotal in driving the data quality, compliance, and interoperability required for next-generation R&D and digital transformation. The anticipated base pay range for this position is $173,000 to $299,000. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis. Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program. Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year of Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
