What to Expect (Job Responsibilities): - Conduct legal research and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda - Provide liability, damages, and value opinions to the Claims Department - Prepare and manage pleadings, motions, and discovery processes - Defend assigned matters in trial or dispositive hearings as applicable - Document files clearly and professionally for various stakeholders
What is Required (Qualifications): - 2 to 6+ years of litigation experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury - Juris Doctor degree - Admission to the New York Bar and must be in good standing - Ability to travel for trials, hearings, and depositions as needed - Strong organizational skills and ability to follow complex instructions
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications): - Experience in civil litigation and insurance defense-related litigation - Professional communication skills in person, via telephone, and written correspondence
