Role Overview: We are seeking a
Business Analyst (Cloud Governance)
who will play a critical role in aligning cloud governance strategies with organizational goals. This position requires a strong combination of business acumen, technical proficiency, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will help drive policy standardization, cost efficiency, compliance, and risk mitigation across our cloud infrastructure platforms. You will act as a bridge between stakeholders, engineering teams, and governance bodies to deliver and manage robust cloud governance capabilities. This includes lifecycle management of governance policies, development of metrics and dashboards, and effective communication of insights across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the liaison between the Cloud Governance team, platform/rule owners, CIS, ServiceNow, and other key stakeholders. Gather and document clear and actionable business and technical requirements for cloud governance capabilities, including compliance detection, notification, and reporting. Partner with engineering teams to translate governance standards into
policy-as-code
and ensure successful delivery of platform features. Facilitate the governance lifecycle process, including standards/rule creation, approval, publication, exception handling, and retirement. Analyze cloud compliance dashboards and datasets to identify trends, inefficiencies, and risks. Create and deliver presentations to stakeholders with data-driven recommendations to improve compliance and adoption. Develop educational materials, guidance documents, and best practices to support cloud governance initiatives. Maintain and improve integration with tools and platforms such as ServiceNow and pipeline deployment teams to ensure seamless compliance data flow. Promote a culture of compliance, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Qualifications: Technical Expertise:
Expert-level proficiency in
SQL
for data analysis and insights. Hands-on experience with
cloud platforms , preferably AWS. Familiarity with
data analysis tools
such as
Databricks, Athena , or
Tableau . Understanding of policy-as-code and governance platform requirements. Experience with
Lucidchart
or other diagramming tools. Business Analysis & Collaboration:
5+ years of experience in
Business Analysis , including requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder engagement. 3+ years of hands-on experience in
Data Analysis , including data validation and visualization. Skilled in using
Confluence and Jira
to manage documentation and workflows. Demonstrated ability to operate independently, prioritize tasks, and deliver outcomes with minimal guidance. Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Nice to Have:
Experience with
user acceptance testing (UAT)
and data validation processes. Working knowledge of
AWS ,
policy lifecycle , and
compliance frameworks . Experience with
data visualization tools
such as Tableau or Power BI. Background in supporting or building
Cloud Compliance Management platforms .
Success Metrics:
Timely and complete delivery of cloud governance platform features and capabilities. Documented and approved cloud standards and rules across all relevant domains. Demonstrated value of compliance data through actionable reports and metrics. Positive stakeholder feedback and adoption of governance initiatives.
