Social Worker

As a Social Worker, GS-0185-12, you will actively support the commander's leadership team in addressing the psychological health of their installation. Conduct assessments, routine and crisis evaluations, psycho-diagnostic assessments, provides short-term, evidence-based problem resolution strategies and services. Design, develop, coordinate, and implement prevention and community outreach and education programs. Serve as primary consultant responsible for marketing and marketing evaluation activities of the ANG PHP. Provide professional consultation, advice, education, and training to other military and non-military health care professionals, medical personnel, military commanders/senior leaders, wing personnel and their family members, and community agencies concerning primary and secondary prevention programs. Prepare agendas for meetings, compile statistical data, and prepare a variety of recurring reports. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements and Conditions of Employment: Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. General Experience: Knowledge of social work theories, principles, techniques, and resources is mandatory. Specialized Experience: Must have 36 months of experience in clinical social work assignments. Completion of the Air Force Social Work Internship Program may be substituted for 12 months of the specialized experience requirement. Quality of Experience: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled.
