Supplier Quality Manager
Supplier Quality Manager positions offered by Safran USA, Inc. Irving, Texas. Key technical leader responsible for working with Suppliers, Design Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain for the selection of qualified suppliers and improvement of supplier performance to provide a positive impact on the quality of new and existing products. This includes eradicating non-conformance and developing the action plan to improve the long-term quality performance of our supplier. Optimize existing processes for the selection of qualified suppliers. Plan, organize and report on all supplier quality-related activities, translating engineering and quality requirements into achievable plans to ensure that customer quality-imposed technical requirements are adhered to by the suppliers. Monitor quality activities and systems of suppliers and analyze and review corrective action reports (non-conforming reports to reduce and eliminate defects). Requires a master's (or foreign equivalent) degree in Engineering Management, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience in the aerospace industry including experience in a Process Engineering role utilizing Advanced SAP ERP software. All stated experience must include using RCCA methodologies such as 5-Whys, ISHIKAWA, Poke Yoke. At least six months of the required experience must include management of direct reports in a production environment. Stated experience must include: Gage R&R and statistical study and related tools (ex: Minitab); utilization of APQP industrialization in Aerospace (AS9145) and validation of FAIR (AS9102); Quality project experience including significant cost savings/reductions (greater than $100K); training Manufacturing Engineers and Production Personnel in new process and tools; experience in OSHA regulations and requirements for audit/implementation projects; experience working in a multi-jurisdictional environment with direct communication with customers or suppliers; and experience providing training on complex customer requirements and adapting their approach to suit different audiences. Must have Green Belt certification. Must be able to travel up to 75% of the working time. Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently.
