SeniorMMIC Design Engineer
JobDescription:
InMACOM’s High Performance RF Business Unit, we design MMICs for satellite communications,aerospace and defense, and other wireless applications. We are looking for anexperienced microwave power amplifier design engineer. You will:
- Be responsiblefor the design, layout, test, and release of new high efficiency MMICs formicrowave and millimeter wave applications based on GaN and GaAstechnologies.
- MMIC productsmay include power amplifiers, distributed amplifiers, low noiseamplifiers, attenuators, switches or multifunction MMICs.
- Set up and runEM simulations using process PDKs. ModifyEM substrate, ports, and other EM setup conditions to backfit simulationsto measurement data.
- Be responsiblefor all design activities and related product development activities fromkickoff through engineering evaluation.
- Work with ourpackage and assembly teams to develop new and more cost-effectivepackaging and assembly methods.
- Initiateprototype builds and manage product characterization. You will designevaluation boards and characterization fixtures, then direct or performmeasurements. Evaluation data is processed and presented against theproduct development goals.
- Provide clearstatus reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing DC and RF testdata.
- Work with ourProduct Engineering group to transfer the product to production.
Qualifications:

- Degree (BSc, MS,or PhD) in Electrical Engineering.
- More than 5years of experience in microwave or millimeter wave MMIC design.
- Fluent withmodern simulation tools such as ADS.
- Knowledgeable inhigh efficiency power amplifier architectures.
- Familiar withMMIC integration and experience designing for high yield and low cost.
- Experience withEM simulations.
- Experience withthermal simulation tools.
- Operation andcalibration of a s-parameter, and nonlinear measurements using industrystandard test equipment (spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, power meter,etc.).
- Experience withthe design of microwave evaluation boards including both electrical andthermal aspects.
- Device modelingexperience is a plus.
- Stronginterpersonal skills and ability to build long lasting partnerships.
- Fluency inspoken and written English.
- Fluent withMicrosoft Office products.
