This is an important role within the Fund Accounting Department as it seeks to support the FAA Team in driving more efficient, standardized and robust reporting capability for the Firm, build a customer focused finance team and drive operational excellence. This role will assist in supporting the production, design, development and implementation of reporting to be responsive to both internal and external constituencies. This individual will play a significant role in these efforts while being exposed to the core processes and deliverables of a fast-paced team serving a growing business.
Primary duties and responsibilities include:
- Partnering with the FAA Team as well as other Fund Accounting Team members on the implementation of efficient and effective processes for reporting on Golub Capital’s fast-growing private funds business
- Maintaining strong control while driving efficiency, standardization and automation in a collaborative environment
- Optimizing current processes and contributing to the system and process improvements needed for long-term growth and development
- Manipulating and analyzing large amounts of data to produce financial, accounting, reporting deliverables and analysis
- Preparing and reviewing forecast materials for Senior Management which provides a preview of performance before the month-end reconciliation process is complete
- Leading / assisting in the build and maintenance of data models that support reporting for Senior Management, ad-hoc analysis and current and potential investor requests
- Utilizing technical / analytical skills to develop new reporting analytics and the automation of current reports
- Coaching and developing junior team members
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (Accounting and Technical majors preferred)
- 6+ years of relevant experience
- Advanced technical accounting and financial analysis skills
- Understanding / knowledge of Financial Company Balance Sheets, Income Statements and the consolidation of entities
- Understanding of financial metrics (leverage calculations, return calculations, IRR and performance metrics)
- Advanced proficiency with Excel required (e.g., Advanced formulas, Power Query and ad-hoc modeling)
- Experience with Workday, Adaptive, Wall Street Office, PowerBI Desktop / Report Builder and similar systems are a strong plus
- Proactive self-starter with a positive can-do and ‘no job too small’ attitude
