Freelance SAP Program Director – S/4HANA RISE Implementation

USA (Remote with occasional onsite travel as needed)

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced SAP Program Director to lead the end-to-end implementation of SAP S/4HANA via RISE with SAP for a high-profile retail and fashion client in the United States. This is a strategic leadership role, responsible for driving program governance, managing key stakeholders, and ensuring timely and successful delivery of the program in a dynamic and customer-centric environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the full lifecycle of the S/4HANA RISE implementation program.
• Establish and manage program governance, steering committee meetings, and escalation paths.
• Drive alignment between business and IT across multiple workstreams.

Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary point of contact for C-level executives, business leads, and technical teams.
• Manage communication and expectations across internal teams, SAP, system integrators, and third-party vendors.

Project Planning & Execution

• Lead the development and execution of the integrated program plan including timelines, deliverables, milestones, and risks.
• Ensure program execution aligns with the strategic objectives and transformation goals of the client.
• Coordinate across internal business functions (Finance, Supply Chain, Merchandising, Omnichannel, etc.).
• Lead and motivate cross-functional teams, including internal staff and external consultants.

Required Experience:

• 15+ years of experience in large-scale SAP program management.
• Proven track record leading full-cycle SAP S/4HANA implementations; at least one successful RISE with SAP project.
• Deep understanding of retail and fashion industry processes , especially around merchandising, planning, finance, procurement, logistics, and omnichannel.
• Strong background in cloud-based transformation programs and experience working with hyperscale's (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Experience managing SI partners and SAP directly .

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with SAP FMS, AFS, or Retail vertical solutions.
• Exposure to change management, training, and business readiness activities.
• Experience in Agile/Hybrid project delivery models.
