Job Description

The principal purpose of the Category Manager- Indirect is to oversee all Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, and Supplier Management activities for IT, Marketing, and Research Subscriptions. This role involves collaborating with global indirect leaders and leveraging third-party resources to support technology-enabled services.

The Category Manager will work as an individual contributor within the Global Procurement Organization, partnering with business unit leadership and cross-functional teams to develop strategic procurement strategies aligned with business objectives. Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders is key.

Responsibilities

Category and Supplier Management

  • Define category and demand profiles
  • Assess the supply market
  • Develop and execute category strategies and plans
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance

Stakeholder and Requirements Management

  • Coordinate between functional teams for category activities
  • Build relationships with stakeholders to incorporate requirements
  • Prepare project plans and communicate timelines
  • Maintain strong relationships and demonstrate value

  • Translate business plans into strategic and tactical actions

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree

Experience

  • At least 5 years in procurement management roles or consulting experience in supply chain or cost savings initiatives

Certifications

  • Professional certifications such as CPSM, CIPS, C.P.M., PMP, or evidence of ongoing professional development

Targeted Competencies

  • Proven cost savings in IT, Marketing, and Research categories
  • Strong relationship-building, analytical, and negotiation skills

Additional Details

Salary: $115,000 - $150,000 annually. Compensation includes base salary, benefits, and potential bonuses or incentives.

Working Conditions: Normal office environment.
