This position has an ideal base location in Chicago, IL. The Director will be responsible for 6 markets across Heaven Hill's North Central Division.
What the Role Is
The Director, Central Division - North, will be responsible for overseeing the execution of Heaven Hill Brands strategic initiatives in our North Central States (IL, IN, MN, SD, ND, NE). This role will manage all distributor relationships and be responsible for managing the business within the assigned territory, as well as leading and developing the team within these states.
How You Will Spend Your Time?
- Develop and maintain relationships with distributors and accounts to achieve agreed upon distribution and sales goals
- Coordinate with the AVP to build long-term working relationships with our distributor partners in assigned states.
- Manage and develop a team of Regional Managers in North Central markets, motivating and ensuring success in achieving results
- Work with the AVP to identify critical, high payoff strategies and prioritize efforts consistent with the organization's goals.
- Work with the AVP to help manage and distributors accountable to the implementation and execution of the company business plan.
- Monitor market performance (depletions, NSV, shipments, latest estimates, inventory, pricing).
- Lead the joint business planning process for assigned states. This includes spends throughout the region and the appropriate brand programming and tracking.
- Work closely with the SP&E team during the budgeting process, as well as tracking allocations and overall business throughout the year.
- Ensure accountability for direct reports to maintain balanced T&E and SAB budgets.
- Manage and develop Regional Managers within the assigned markets, driving accountability for results and team development
- Manage approvals for TPM (SAWs and PWs), ADP and Concur.
- Maintain constant connection with the AVP based on market/personnel developments and the necessary adjustments
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, Marketing or related field.
- Minimum ten (10) years’ sales experience in spirits or wine industry. Open states experience preferable.
- Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales systems.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Excellent critical thinking skills, using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Analytical skills, in particular gathering data from a wide variety of sources and presenting it in formats suitable for a wide variety of audiences.
- Effective managerial and presentation skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must be customer centric with good negotiation and business expansion skills.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Proficient with distributor dashboards for communication and analytics of the business
While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, and use of computer; reach with hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

In Chicago, the expected compensation range for this role is between $170,000-180,000. Actual starting pay may differ based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
