Role Overview
The Float Rotor Wing Pilot is responsible for safely operating aircraft to transport critically ill or injured patients. This role requires strong aviation skills, a focus on safety, excellent customer service, and effective communication, often in stressful situations. The position involves working varied shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, with full-time hours covering open shifts due to vacations or leaves.
Qualifications & Skills
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 5 years’ experience as a professional pilot preferred
- 2000 hours Total Time required
- 1500 hours as Pilot in Command
- 1000 hours R/W Turbine time required
- 100 hours instrument time preferred
- 75 Instrument hours total, with at least 50 hours in aircraft instrument time required
- 100 hours of unaided nighttime required
- Experience in air medical transportation and NVG preferred
- Mountain flying experience preferred
- FAA Commercial Helicopter Certificate with Instrument Helicopter Rating required
- Valid FAA second class flight physical required
- Ability to perform pre- and post-flight inspections, plan flights, assist with loading, and analyze weather conditions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and ability to travel as needed
