They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our growing team. About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our growing team. You will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and testing software for our next-generation ultrasound imaging platform. This role requires a strong understanding of software engineering principles, experience with medical device software development (preferred), and a passion for creating innovative solutions in healthcare. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of software development lifecycle, regulatory requirements, and a passion for delivering high-quality, reliable, and innovative solutions.

What you’ll be working on:

• Write, debug and maintain robust C++ software for their ultrasound platform; depending on your skills, you might work on code related to our vision stack, write GPU kernels, design and implement low memory footprint image compression libraries, implement high-performance inter-process communication data buffers.
• Optimize hardware resources usage, leverage custom hardware components where appropriate.
• Advocate for best coding practices amongst the group, enhance our existing tools to help engineers to write better code (for instance, performance/memory tracking).
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., FDA regulations for medical devices, HIPAA).
• Troubleshoot and debug software issues.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in software engineering and medical imaging technologies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 10 plus years experience programming C/C++ software, including modern C/C++ (C++14/17/20), multithreading and Python
• Experience or familiarity with Computer Vision, Machine Learning & related software concepts a plus
• imaging software, Cuda/OpenCL, signal processing, SIMD
• Experience with performant software design, object-oriented C++, compiler design and/or hardcore lower-level C code.
• Proficient developing software on a Linux host, for embedded Linux targets (cross-compilation, etc.) a plus.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Passion for improving healthcare through technology.
• Ability to work on site in our San Jose office approximately half time.
