We are seeking a highly experienced and emotionally intelligent Senior IAM Strategist & Principal Architect to define and lead the future of Identity and Access Management (IAM) for our organization. This is a pivotal individual contributor role where you will be the visionary and subject matter expert responsible for setting the strategic direction, architecting the solution roadmap, and championing its adoption across the enterprise.

A successful candidate will possess deep technical expertise in Microsoft Entra Suite ID P2 and a strong business acumen, but critically, they must be a master of influence and relationship-building. This role requires the ability to meet people where they are, understand their unique needs and concerns, and guide them with empathy and clarity on the IAM journey. You will act as a trusted advisor, building consensus and fostering a collaborative culture around security best practices.

This role will drive the transition from our existing IAM platform to Microsoft Entra Suite P2, collaborating closely with our Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) team to ensure continuous SOX ITCG compliance. You will also be responsible for architecting and building a comprehensive persona database to standardize roles and access across the company. This role demands a proactive, strategic mindset and the ability to drive significant, positive change through technical leadership and strong interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and Own the IAM Strategy: Architect, communicate, and champion a multi-year IAM strategic roadmap centered on Microsoft Entra Suite.
• Drive Strategic Implementation: Lead the architectural design and oversee the hands-on implementation of IAM solutions, ensuring alignment with the strategic vision and security best practices.
• Influence and Collaborate: Build strong, collaborative relationships with cross-functional stakeholders including IT Operations, GRC, application owners, and business leaders to drive consensus and adoption of IAM initiatives.
• Persona and Governance Architecture: Architect, build, and manage a centralized persona database to standardize role definitions and entitlements, addressing the complexities of disparate HR systems and varied job titles.
• Compliance Leadership: Act as the primary technical partner for the GRC team, leading the migration of SOX ITCG controls from our legacy platform (e.g., SailPoint) to Entra ID P2 and ensuring ongoing audit readiness.
• Technical Expertise & Innovation: Serve as the senior subject matter expert for Microsoft Entra Suite, proactively identifying opportunities to leverage new features (e.g., PIM, Conditional Access, Identity Governance) to enhance our security posture and operational efficiency.
• Process Integration & Automation: Drive the integration of IAM processes with existing enterprise systems (e.g., ticketing, HRIS) and develop automation strategies using scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to optimize identity lifecycle management.
• Knowledge Transfer: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and lead informal training sessions to upskill teams on IAM processes, configurations, and best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

• 7+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management and Identity Governance (IAM/IAG).
• Deep, hands-on expertise designing and implementing solutions with Microsoft Entra ID P2, including:
• Privileged Identity Management (PIM)
• Conditional Access policies
• Entra ID Identity Governance (Access Reviews, Entitlement Management, etc.)
• Identity Protection
• Application integration (SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect)
• Demonstrable experience in developing and executing IAM strategies, roadmaps, and business cases for large-scale enterprise environments.
• Proven experience in migrating from an existing IAM solution (preferably SailPoint) to a new platform.
• Strong understanding of IAM principles, including least privilege, RBAC, and authentication/authorization protocols.
• Familiarity with SOX ITCG controls and experience partnering with GRC teams.
• Experience in architecting and managing role-based access models and persona databases in complex environments.
• Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert) are a plus.
