WeRide.ai Silicon Valley team is looking for outstanding Software Engineers to lead our visual mapping and localization efforts. We seek an engineer with an advanced degree and experience building mapping and localization systems that operate with real data in uncertain environments.
You will be responsible for:
Building state-of-the-art mapping pipelines that integrate data from various sensors, and developing localization algorithms that utilize these maps in real-time.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of professional experience (industry experience is a plus)
- Knowledge of state-of-the-art theory for visual SLAM and place recognition
- Strong skills in probabilistic filtering theory, computer vision, and inertial pose estimation
- Proficiency in C++, Python skills are a plus
- Experience implementing computationally intensive algorithms on commodity hardware
- Prior experience in pose estimation, probabilistic filtering, SLAM, or nonlinear optimization
- Ability to adapt to undefined and fast-paced environments
- Experience with self-driving technologies is advantageous
Plus:
- Knowledge of Linux and development on Linux systems
- Familiarity with ROS
- Experience working in automotive or aerospace environments
- Previous experience with robotic or vehicle systems
- Development experience with embedded systems with real-time constraints
- Experience with real-time sensor fusion (e.g., IMU, lidar, camera, odometry, radar)
Salary Range: The base pay for this position typically ranges from $130,000 to $182,000, depending on experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills. This role is also eligible for an annual performance bonus, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package.
