Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), responsible for creating all of KLA's metrology and inspection products, is seeking talented research scientists, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The Film and Scatterometry Technology (FaST) Division provides industry-leading metrology solutions for worldwide semiconductor IC manufacturers, including hardware and software for optical film thickness, optical critical dimension (CD), composition, and resistivity measurement systems. These products are essential for IC manufacturers, supporting their development and implementation of advanced IC processes. The division is committed to supporting our customers from early research and development to high-volume in-line manufacturing, with a global team located in the US, Israel, China, and India.

Job Description & Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree with 3 years of related work experience or Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of related work experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, C#, Java, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
  • Ability to collaborate across hardware and systems/application teams to understand requirements and translate them into software designs.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to transition seamlessly from theoretical concepts to practical implementation.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain software on large codebases.
  • Acquire knowledge of key use cases and demonstrate expertise in metrology software and platforms.
  • Participate in the entire product development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with global teams to develop and deliver software solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues.
  • Identify root causes and devise innovative solutions for complex problems.
  • Travel to other KLA sites and customer locations as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Doctorate Degree with no related work experience, or Master's Degree with 3 years, or Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of related experience.

Base Pay Range: $130,400 - $221,700 annually. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) with company match, employee stock purchase plan, tuition reimbursement, development opportunities, wellness benefits, paid time off, and family leave. Interns are eligible for some benefits. Pay ranges are role, level, and location-dependent. Actual pay depends on multiple factors, including experience and education.
