Job Description:
In this hands-on position, you will work collaboratively to architect, design, build, deliver, and enhance highly available, scalable, real-time systems. You will exercise your judgment in determining and recommending the best designs based on the customer’s business objectives, timelines, and other resource constraints. You will participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle of a mission-critical product, including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding, and unit testing.
Primary Responsibilities:
- This role requires an experienced Cloud Architect with significant DevOps experience. This role designs, develops, and implements a Cloud-Native Service architecture that software development teams can leverage to move services to use native cloud capabilities.
- This role works directly with implementation teams to provide technical guidance and implementation priorities related to cloud implementation.
- This role provides architecture expertise and delivers an innovative product, service, or a combination of products and services that address a customer’s specific requirements.
- Support the development and architecture of enterprise software solutions within AWS.
- Develop innovative approaches and solutions, using non-quantitative tools and guidelines from past experience.
- This role provides execution guidance and practical architecture guidance to the O&M organization.
- Understanding application development lifecycles and practical experience with continuous integration and deployment tools as part of the container lifecycle will be useful. Support all aspects of systems engineering, including designing, architecture, troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Interface with software developers, analysts, and other project team members using Agile SCRUM methodology and SAFe to deliver features that enhance system capabilities and facilitate CBP’s mission.
Translate customer needs into user stories and deliver working capabilities at the end of each sprint.
Collaborate with product teams to design and implement solutions to challenging problems.
Communicate technical challenges, options considered, and recommendations to senior leaders within Leidos and CBP. - Assist in change management of the container platform for new versions of OpenShift, hotfixes, SysAdmin tasks, etc.
- Work with experienced team members to conduct root cause analysis, review code, and perform unit testing.
- Author and edit system documentation and playbooks.
- Partner with team members to develop accurate work estimates.
- May serve as a mentor on procedural matters to less experienced team members.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of related experience. Additional experience, education, and training may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Experience in IT repair, maintenance, operations, logistics, and engineering services to ensure secure, reliable, and uninterrupted application availability.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional project teams including Software Development, System Engineering, Security, Compliance, and QA.
- Experience in Agile, SAFe, and Scrum environments.
- Experience with DevOps CI/CD technologies like Azure DevOps, Git, Jenkins, Puppet, Docker, Confluence, SonarLint, and JUnit.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Software Configuration Management lifecycle deliverables.
- At least one AWS Certification from the AWS Associate level (e.g., AWS Certified Architect Associate, Developer Associate, or SysOps Administrator Associate).
- Experience with Cloud Technologies and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
- Understanding of enterprise cloud solutions architecture and AWS.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two or more AWS Certifications from the AWS Associate or Professional levels.
- One AWS Certification from the AWS Professional or Specialty domains.
- Active CBP BI clearance.
- Strong communication skills.
