This position is a hybrid role with a mix of in-person and remote work.
Job Summary
Performs structural design of projects, including structural analysis, calculations, drawing creation, and coordination with clients and design partners. Supports the Project Manager and Senior Engineers with project delivery and supervises junior staff.

Job Responsibilities
- Designs structural projects, executes calculations, prepares drawings, and drafts reports.
- Researches applicable codes and regulations.
- Coordinates structural design within the firm and with other disciplines.
- May stamp projects under supervision.
- Performs Construction Administration tasks like RFIs, submittals, and site visits.
- Coordinates BIM work.
- Guides Assistant Engineers and Technicians.
- Communicates with team and partners.
- Attends project meetings.
- May supervise Assistant Engineers.
- Supports team objectives and projects.
- May manage small to medium projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master’s preferred.
- 3-6 years of professional design experience.
- PE license in Virginia preferred.
- Proficiency in steel, concrete, Unistrut, building design, retrofits, analysis, anchorage, bracing, and wind design.
- Knowledge of timber, masonry, cold-formed steel, seismic, nonlinear analysis.
- Proficiency in ACI 318, AISC 360, ASCE 7, IBC, AISC 341, NDS.
- Skills in ETABS, RISA 3D, SAP, BlueBeam, AutoCAD, Office 365, RAM.
- Experience with construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong independent and team work skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Office and cloud platforms.
