What To Expect
We seek a highly motivated and hands-on Engineer with an electrical engineering background for a position in the Manufacturing Test Engineering group. This team focuses on building robust, data-centric automated testing equipment for Tesla’s power electronics and battery manufacturing lines, covering mechanical, electrical, software, and controls of capital equipment worldwide. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the "machine that builds the machine," collaborating closely with power electronics product design and manufacturing.

What You'll Do

  • Research and specify electrical test equipment such as measurement devices, power supplies, sensors, I/O devices, and other hardware to meet test requirements.
  • Design schematics and layouts for industrial electrical control panels compliant with NFPA79/NEC/UL508A standards.
  • Develop test specifications and create detailed execution plans.
  • Perform bench testing on electrical components to validate processes.
  • Implement safety systems adhering to OSHA and ISO standards to safeguard high voltage and mechanical hazards.
  • Debug and optimize automated processes to reduce cycle times and maximize uptime.
  • Characterize and validate equipment using statistical methods (GR&R, Cpk).
What You'll Bring
  • Experience with electrical test equipment like power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and analyzers.
  • Ability to read and build schematics for machines and PCBAs.
  • Familiarity with electrical CAD software such as EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical is a plus.
  • Degree in Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in controls, mechatronics, testing, or automation engineering.
