Job Title: Senior Software Engineer (Full-Stack)

Location: Denver, CO (Cherry Creek area)

Work Model: Hybrid (1–2 days/week onsite)

We’re building “Jarvis for Vets” - HappyDoc is an AI-powered assistant for veterinary clinics, built to automate the tedium of medical record-keeping and administrative tasks. Trusted by thousands of veterinarians in the US, Canada, and Australia, HappyDoc helps veterinarians reclaim hours each day by turning voice recordings and PDFs into structured SOAP notes, insights dashboards, and workflow tasking.

Role Overview

As one of our first engineering hires post-seed round, build product end-to-end and influence technical direction. You’ll work closely with the Founder, contribute hands-on to product development, and build toward a growing engineering team over 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect, build, and maintain high-impact backend systems, integrations, and infrastructure
• Contribute to frontend (React), backend (Node), and mobile (React Native) as needed
• Own performance, scalability, and reliability of our AI-driven workflows
• Own features from problem to production
• Mentor peers and share best practices

What You’ll Be Working With:

• Integrations: .NET agent for legacy EMR systems, Chrome-extension-based UI automation
• Cloud-native deployment across Vercel, GCP (APIs), Azure (LLMs), and AWS
• Voice-to-text pipelines, LLM-based medical-record generation with custom veterinary tuning

Ideal Candidate Profile

Must‑have:

• 5+ years hands-on engineering experience, ideally in early-stage startups
• Strong backend architecture, integration, and infrastructure expertise
• Experience working with SaaS products and complex third-party integrations
• Entrepreneurial mindset: comfort with ambiguity and delivering high impact
• Able to lead, mentor, and shape engineering culture from the ground up
• Denver‑based or willing to relocate; hybrid presence preferred

Bonus:

• Familiarity with React / React Native, JS/TypeScript stack
• Experience integrating with legacy systems or building automation around UI-only systems
• A passionate interest in automation, AI agents, or process design

Interview Process (High-Level)

• Intro call with Founder
• Technical conversation (live coding or pairing)

Take-home assignments can be designed to be small and focused; live pairing is preferred to reduce candidate friction.
