Cerebras Systems, Sunnyvale

Save Job

Cerebras Systems builds the world's largest AI chip, 56 times larger than GPUs. Our novel wafer-scale architecture provides the AI compute power of dozens of GPUs on a single chip, with the programming simplicity of a single device. This approach allows Cerebras to deliver industry-leading training and inference speeds and empowers machine learning users to effortlessly run large-scale ML applications, without the hassle of managing hundreds of GPUs or TPUs.

Cerebras' current customers include global corporations across multiple industries, national labs, and top-tier healthcare systems. In January, we announced a multi-year, multi-million-dollar partnership with Mayo Clinic, underscoring our commitment to transforming AI applications across various fields. In August, we launched Cerebras Inference, the fastest Generative AI inference solution in the world, over 10 times faster than GPU-based hyperscale cloud inference services.

We are seeking an exceptional Power Architect to help us continue our innovation and leadership.

Our system, built from scratch after fifty years of trials by multiple teams, is the first to commercialize a wafer-level solution. It runs training and inference workloads orders of magnitude faster than competitors, fundamentally changing the way ML researchers work and pursue AI innovation. We want a dreamer with a proven track record of innovation, the drive to champion solutions, and stamina to see projects through to production. Join us to be part of history.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead early-stage system architecture exploration focusing on power delivery and thermal management.
  2. Drive innovation in vertical power delivery to the wafer, enabling ultra-high current density solutions.
  3. Collaborate with internal product, VLSI, and systems teams to define and refine detailed power specifications.
  4. Architect power delivery systems optimized for electrical performance and cooling efficiency.
  5. Evaluate and select optimal architectures and partners for new technology development.
  6. Oversee the full lifecycle of power delivery solutions from concept to production deployment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MSEE or MSCE required; PhD preferred or equivalent industry experience.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in power delivery systems.
  • Strong foundation in energy-efficient system design and trade-offs.
  • Experience in thermal modeling and cooling solutions.
  • Proficiency in Python for scripting and data analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in DC-DC power conversion, control loops, power management, magnetics, and filter design.
  • Background in semiconductor technologies, including PMICs and power modules.
  • Knowledge of magnetic components and custom inductor design.
  • Experience developing advanced power modules with optimized thermal and magnetic properties.
