Senior Software Engineer
MTA, Inc. has an immediate opening for the position of Senior Software Engineer to provide support to the United States Army Armament Center, Digital Fire Control System (DFCS) program at Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey.
The Candidate Will

• Develop code to interface host computers to tactical radios.
• Work as a member of the Integrated Product Development Team (IPDT) to develop system requirements, software design, coding, software/system analysis, process, software verification, documentation, and testing.
• Design, modify, develop, write, and implement software programming applications.
• Support and/or install software applications / operating systems.
• Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing, and certification of software.
• Exercise judgment in determining the most efficient methods for updating, testing, and debugging code.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  

Position Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (4-year degree) in a related area and 12+ years of experience in the field.
• Experience and knowledge with computer interface communications, involving USB, Ethernet, and Sync Serial control and message data for Tactical Military Radios.
• Experience and familiarity with MIL-STD-188-220 variable message format (VMF) and MIL-STD-2045-47001 Segmentation and Reassembly.
• Experience with WinIDM VMF-capable software modem (C/C++/C#/Java) is a plus.
• Host computer hardware interfacing is to Aeronix USB/Ethernet/Sync Serial Adapter with 2-wire CDP operating on Windows 7/10.
• Ability to evaluate current code for the identification of technical, logical, and design deficiencies for a system.
• Must be able to produce essential results and perform essential functions satisfactorily.
• The candidate must have the ability to pass a government background check prior to a notice to proceed.
• Must be a citizen of the United States.
• This position requires working both independently and within a team environment.
• Travel is not anticipated.
• The working environment/location is currently tele-working from home, but may switch to working on the Picatinny Arsenal, NJ.
