CLA is looking to hire a Chief Financial Officer with Manufacturing and/or Construction industry experience to join our CAAS practice based out of either one of our Wisconsin-Fox Cities office locations (Appleton , Fond du Lac , or Oshkosh WI ). This is a full-time/permanent position with CLA, where you will manage a team of 15+ accounting and finance professionals to deliver outsourced accounting solutions to clients as well as provide CFO consulting services yourself to CLA clients in the local area.
As a Chief Financial Officer, you will...
Perform CFO functions as part of the client’s accounting services team.
Be accountable for identifying and implementing best practices related to the services provided to add value to the client.
Work with clients to set financial policy and be an active participant in, and driver of, the overall strategy.
Drive capital planning, risk management, ratio and KPI analysis, and board of director interactions.
Lead financial administration, planning, and budgeting.
Oversee longer-term budget planning and cost management.
Monitor progress of budgets and present operational metrics.
Ensure financial staff maintains financial record systems in accordance with appropriate principles and monitors the use of funds.
Manage cash flow and forecasting, directing financial accounting.
Coordinate audit activities.
Ability to effectively and efficiently manage multiple client engagements.
Build strong client relationships and become a key member of the client management team.
Ability to develop key external business networks and become a service and industry thought leader.
Additional responsibilities involving business development...
Develop key external business networks to grow the Consulting & Outsourcing practice.
When applicable, in a specific industry, be known as a Consulting & Outsourcing thought leader both within the firm and externally.
Manage internal and external referrals through the use of firm customer relationship management software.
Interact and coordinate with internal client relationship leaders to grow services with existing CLA clients seamlessly.
Lead proposal writing and presentation efforts as needed.
Job Requirements:
Experience : 8 years of relevant accounting and/or financial experience is required. Relevant manufacturing and/or construction industry experience is highly preferred!
Prior project management and client management experience preferred but not required.
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and skilled in multitasking.
Experience/knowledge/skills in business development is highly preferred!
Education : Bachelor's degree is required. A combination of relevant experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
CPA certification preferred but not required.
Travel : Ability to do frequent local travel to/from client sites and may require occasional non-local or overnight travel for client visits, training, meetings and/or other business-related purposes.
