Job Description:
Head of US & Canada Taxation
The selected candidate will lead the US & Canada Tax Department reporting directly to Ferrovial Global Tax Director, belonging to the General Economic-Financial Directorate.
Functions:
· Ferrovial’s US & Canada permanent tax advisory on any tax issue that could arise in the day-to-day business.
· Tax advisory and due diligence on any bidding or M&A transaction carried out by the Group in US & Canada, including matters related to structuring and tax characterization of new business ventures.
· Oversight and planning of US Federal and State and Canada Corporate Income Tax compliance for all locations where the Group operates.
· Oversight and planning of income tax compliance for partnerships and joint ventures, including coordination with external partners.
· Represent Ferrovial to participate in taxation working groups/meetings.
· Coordination and review of accounting corporate income tax provisions, both current and deferred, of the Group on a periodical basis, under both US GAAP and IFRS. Determine tax accounting implications of transactions and new business activities.
· Implementation, development, approval and reporting of any SOX compliance control on tax matters under his/her responsibility.
· Participate and provide support in tax defense and litigation whenever there are any tax audits, disputes in US & Canada related to corporate income tax matters.
· Ensure that upcoming tax changes and new reporting requirements about fiscal unities are appropriately interpreted and implemented
· Collaborate and provide support in Global Reporting and Transfer pricing tasks. Address technical matters unique to inbound corporate structure, such as cash management, BEAT, CAMT, etc.
· Provide support to the global tax reporting responsible for corporate tax initiatives including BEPS-Pillar II-ETR regulation, Country by Country, Total Tax Contribution and Tax Transparency reports and tax risk management.
· Liaise with and manage the engagement of internal/external tax advisors and internal/external auditors in relation to the above.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Master’s degree in Accounting and/or CPA license preferred
· Tax technical systems background (SAP, etc..)
· Experience of at least 10 years in US taxation, in a Tax Firm or in a group of companies
· SOX compliance experience
· Leadership and team building skills
· Highly collaborative team player
· Analytical, technology and a data-driven mindset
