Intrepid is a specialty investment bank providing M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory services to entrepreneurs, family-owned companies, private equity sponsors, and major corporations. We operate through dedicated banking teams with deep industry sector experience and over three decades of expertise. The firm is based in Los Angeles, with additional offices in San Francisco, New York, Chicago, and Charlotte. The selected candidate will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days a week and remotely one day. A member of our recruitment team will provide further details.
We are expanding nationally and seeking a talented M&A Sell-side Associate to join our Industrials & Business Services Team in Charlotte, NC.
Responsibilities:
- Organize, review, and analyze due diligence processes and materials
- Develop valuation analyses and models (projections, LBO, DCF, public comparables, historical M&A transactions, etc.)
- Prepare comprehensive pitchbooks, information memoranda, management presentations, and marketing materials
- Compile prospective acquirer lists and contact potential acquirers
- Perform key steps in the sale execution process
- Support senior bankers in establishing and maintaining relationships with clients
- Interact with senior bankers to help build the firm through training, recruiting, and mentoring
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of two years of sell-side M&A advisory and investment banking experience with a record of completed transactions in the Industrials and Business Services sectors
- Outstanding academic credentials from a top-tier school
- Critical thinking, process orientation, and strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Highly proficient in financial analysis and modeling
- Proactive, results-oriented, team player with a can-do attitude
- Self-starter willing to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Mature with the ability to collaborate effectively in a small team
- Proficiency with S&P Capital IQ, Pitchbook, Salesforce CRM, and online data room platforms
- FINRA Series 7, 63, or 79 license
Compensation & Benefits:
The typical base salary is $170K. Depending on role, productivity, and incentives, compensation may include a bonus up to 25% per transaction, subject to CEO approval.
