Base pay range

$95,000.00/yr - $145,000.00/yr

Position Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will lead the financial strategy, planning, and operations for our metal powder manufacturing and processing operation and play a key role in growth and M&A and construction/development activities. This role is critical to ensuring sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and financial health while supporting investment in advanced manufacturing technologies. The CFO will oversee accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, cost analysis, capital planning, and risk management, government funding opportunities, as well as tax, and will play a key role as part of the management team, in driving profitability, supply chain optimization, and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct all aspects of the company’s financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, tax, and compliance.
  • Lead development and execution of the financial strategy to support operational efficiency, cost improvement, and growth objectives in powder processing.
  • Analyze and report financial results, manufacturing costs, and operational metrics to identify trends and recommend actions for improved performance.
  • Oversee cost accounting processes specific to powder production, including raw material analysis, yield management, overhead allocation, and waste reduction.
  • Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with our modified tax basis accounting.
  • Monitor working capital, cash flow, and capital expenditures to ensure liquidity and optimal resource allocation.
  • Partner with operations leadership to develop ROI models for new equipment, facility expansions, and product line investments.
  • Evaluate and negotiate supplier contracts and capital investment proposals.
  • Ensure financial and regulatory compliance with applicable federal, state, and industryspecific standards (e.g., ISO, OSHA, environmental regulations).
  • Lead the annual budgeting and strategic planning process.
  • Support M&A and development activity, investor relations, and boardlevel reporting as required.
  • Supervise and mentor finance and accounting staff.
  • Review, negotiate and draft tenant lease contracts and work through resolutions of issues concerning same.
  • Review, negotiate and draft supplier agreements with our customers.
  • Oversight of financial systems for multiple separate entities.
  • Develop accounting system based pricing, costing and sales CRM tools.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of financial leadership experience, preferably in manufacturing or materials processing.
  • Deep understanding of inventory management, cost accounting, valuation, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
  • Microsoft Dynamics experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic financial planning, analysis, and capital project evaluation.
  • Strong leadership, and excellent communication, and teambuilding skills.
  • High integrity and commitment to operational excellence.
Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with metal powder processes and management.
  • Experience with global supply chains and commodity pricing impacts on specialty metals.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Prior experience with supervision of HR, compliance, and tax strategy and compliance.
  • Prior experience with supervision of Information Technology.
  • Prior experience with SQL Data Management and Query Writing
  • Strong leadership skills and capability to mentor and train associates.
