The CFO will serve as a strategic thought partner to the CEO and Board, responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring ASC 606-compliant reporting, managing external debt obligations, supporting M&A activities, and driving growth. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in PE-backed businesses, software and services revenue recognition, and acquisition integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Strategy & Leadership: Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy to support 10%+ organic growth and multiple acquisitions annually.
- Partner with PE sponsors and the CEO on strategic financial planning, including long-range modeling and capital structure optimization.
- Build, develop, and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team.
- Financial Reporting & Compliance: Oversee preparation of financial statements and board reporting, lead audits, tax planning, and ensure compliance with ASC 606 and GAAP.
- Mergers & Acquisitions: Evaluate, structure, diligence, and integrate acquisitions; lead financial modeling and valuation analysis.
- Treasury & Capital Structure: Manage relationships with debt providers, ensure covenant compliance, and optimize capital allocation.
- Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis: Drive annual budgeting, deliver forecasts, and support operational teams with financial insights.
- Equity Management: Manage employee equity plans, cap table, and coordinate with legal and PE teams on financing and ownership structures.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of financial leadership experience, preferably in PE-backed tech or services firms.
- Expertise in ASC 606 revenue recognition for software and SaaS.
- M&A experience: due diligence, modeling, integration.
- Strong debt management and lender relations experience.
- Proven ability to scale infrastructure in high-growth environments.
- Experience presenting to Boards and managing investor relations.
- Experience with Netsuite is a plus.
- CPA and/or MBA preferred.
Success Metrics
- Timely, audit-ready ASC 606 reporting with no material weaknesses.
- Successful execution of multiple acquisitions with clean integrations.
- 10%+ annual organic revenue growth.
- No covenant breaches or credit issues.
- High satisfaction from PE sponsors regarding transparency and financial insight.
Other
- Travel as needed.
- Work from Liberty, SC headquarters; remote considered for the right candidate, with travel to HQ once a month.
- Lead a team of three employees.
