Prescient Edge is seeking a Senior Orbital Analyst to support a government client.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to perform orbit determination, ephemeris generation, orbital position uncertainty estimates.
- Generate simulations to validate accuracy of various orbital simulations and orbit determination techniques.
- Familiarity with Python, Shell Scripting for engineeingsupport andvalidation testing
- Contribute to development of new and improved mission capabilities.
- Engage customers for product demonstrations and analysis products and the ability to effectively communicate results.
- Communicate complex network solutions to technical and non-technical employees.
- Perform real time support, troubleshooting and analysis of in-orbit satellite anomalies, providing immediate and relevant problem identification and resolution.
- Provide support for root cause analysis and investigation of satellite anomalies.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Demonstrated experience with orbit determination and astrodynamics techniques.
- Familiarity with standard astrodynamics tools including STK/Astrogator and/or Orbit Determination Tool Kit (ODTK), and MATLAB.
- Trajectory analysis tool experience such as POST, OTIS, Astrogator, or Copernicus.
- Operations background to include in-depth understanding of satellite operations.
- Thorough understanding of spacecraft, space operations and ground interfaces.
- System engineering mindset that allows the person to have a global view of problems and solution sets.
- Experience with Linux operating system.
- Exceptional analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
- Good organization, decision making, and verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of self-initiative and self-motivation with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Ability to work effectively in small team settings to solve complex problems.
