ICX Group is recruiting for a CFO opportunity with a growing construction company in town. This executive will oversee the accounting and finance team and be a strategic partner to the CEO. Required experience in the construction/contractor industry (strong understanding of WIP). The CFO will manage the Vice-President of Finance and Corporate Controller.

Overview:

The CFO is a key member of the executive team, responsible for strategic financial leadership across all areas of finance, accounting, treasury, tax planning, and financial reporting. This role ensures the organization’s financial health through effective policy implementation, cost management, and risk mitigation, while also contributing to long-term corporate strategy and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction on corporate finance, budgeting, and financial planning.
  • Lead acquisition efforts including evaluation, due diligence, and post-close integration.
  • Monitor financial performance across business units to ensure profitability and strong cash flow.
  • Oversee accurate and timely financial reporting, job cost accounting, and WIP processes.
  • Manage relationships with financial institutions, auditors, insurers, and other stakeholders.
  • Guide capital investment decisions, contract negotiations, and pricing strategies.
  • Support and develop senior financial leaders and ensure alignment of financial practices organization-wide.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and long-range financial planning.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and audit requirements.
  • Champion a performance-oriented culture through effective financial KPIs and accountability systems.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
  • 10+ years of senior financial leadership, preferably in a construction or project-driven environment.
  • Proven experience with M&A, including evaluation, due diligence, and integration.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of financial reporting, job costing, gross margin analysis, and related operational metrics.
