As we continue to improve and grow, we’re seeking a strategic and hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to help lead our financial operations, short-term and longterm planning, while also managing real estate assets and lease negotiations.

Position Summary :

The CFO will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial functions of the business including accounting, budgeting, financial planning, cash flow management, and financial reporting. The CFO will also play a pivotal role in real estate matters, including lease administration, landlord negotiations, and expansion or consolidation strategies.

Key Responsibilities :

Financial Leadership

  • Lead all accounting and finance functions, including budgeting, forecasting, AP / AR, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization (e.g., growth, expansion, profitability, organizational structure).
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, banking relationships, and risk management activities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Oversee internal controls and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate and manage insurance, tax strategies, inventory consolidation and audit preparation.
  • Coordinate with IT department to ensure priorities and goals are being met.

Strategic Planning & Business Operations

  • Work closely with family and executive leadership to guide long-term planning and performance goals.
  • Analyze financial trends, forecasts, and key performance indicators to support decision-making.
  • Evaluate and improve financial systems, technology, and processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Lead cost control initiatives and identify areas for operational improvement.
  • Become familiar with all aspects of AI so that we are on the cutting edge of its use.
  • Real Estate & Lease Management

  • Oversee the company’s real estate portfolio, including store locations, warehouses, and office properties.
  • Negotiate new and existing lease agreements, including renewals, expansions, and terminations.
  • Maintain lease records, compliance calendars, and critical dates for lease obligations.
  • Serve as a liaison with landlords, brokers, legal counsel, and property managers.
  • Analyze market trends and assess opportunities for location optimization or strategic expansion.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally in retail, grocery, or related industry.
  • Proven experience in real estate lease negotiation and administration.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with ERP / accounting systems and business analytics tools.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills with a collaborative, hands-on approach.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality in a family-owned business environment.
