Recruiting Manager at UHY LLP, Certified Public Accountants

A great UHY client is seeking a CFO to join their team. The CFO will serve as a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for the overall financial strategy, planning, and performance of the company. This role demands a proactive financial leader with expertise in cost accounting and contract-based revenue recognition. The CFO will play a critical role in strategic decision-making, operational improvements, and risk management.

The CFO role is an onsite position. This is a client direct hire position.

CFO Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the company’s financial strategy, planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Manage all aspects of accounting operations, including oversight of Percentage of Completion accounting and Job Costing processes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP.
  • Provide strategic insight and analysis to support the CEO and executive team in decision-making.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and capital expenditures effectively.
  • Lead the preparation for audits, tax filings, and banking relationships.
  • Supervise and mentor a finance team of three professionals.
  • Conduct site visits and job cost reviews, requiring approximately 20% travel (primarily local).
  • Identify and implement process improvements and financial systems upgrades as needed.
  • Ensure effective internal controls and compliance with all regulatory requirements.

CFO Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including experience as a CFO or VP of Finance.
  • Strong background in manufacturing finance, with expertise in Percentage of Completion accounting and Job Costing.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in financial systems and ERP platforms.
