As a business unit of AMETEK Electronic Components and Packaging, Aegis manufactures a full range of industry standard and complex custom packages in both glass and ceramic configurations, to customer drawings and technical requirements.
You will be responsible for the management of the Sustaining Engineering departments, and for directing the Engineering group with the Company's strategies and expectations, customer requirements, and operational excellence. This position reports directly to the BU VP of Engineering.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Leads, develops and executes strategic plans for development.
- Maintains awareness of trends in our industry to ensure company is current in development efforts to supply new and innovative products.
- Interfaces with sales and marketing to develop strong relationships with key and target customers by understanding their application needs and developing sustainable solutions.
- Manages the Sustaining Engineering department.
- Manages engineering projects and timelines to keep on schedule and on budget.
- Develops efficient, cost effective and sound processes used to manufacture hermetically sealed products utilizing Six Sigma & data analytics methodologies.
- Responsible for directing the Engineering group with strategies and expectations of the Company and customer requirements.
- Responsible for operational excellence initiatives (VAVE).
- Implement DMAIC methodology to ensures continuous improvement in process, cost, quality and production.
Job Requirements:
- BS in an engineering or similiar discipline
- 10 years’ experience in an engineering organization
- 5-8 years’ experience in management.
- Must have knowledge of glass to metal seal, all basic machining practices and production flow requirements.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills to interact with a diverse range of personnel.
- Demonstrated history of completing complex engineering projects on schedule and within budget.
- Proficient with CAD and SolidWorks is a plus.
- Some travel is required to client and vendor meetings
