Position Overview

Weston is seeking a licensed Senior Electrical Engineer with a background in low to medium voltage distribution and power supply design required for miscellaneous non-commercial applications. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing new systems and upgrading existing systems for electric vehicle charging, battery backup, solar power systems, pumps, and motors, including <13.2kV distribution systems. The candidate should have a proven track record in leading multidisciplinary projects from field reconnaissance through design, construction, and commissioning, with a focus on community learning and mentorship.

Houston, Austin, San Antonio, or Dallas, Texas; West Chester, PA; Chicagoland Area, IL; or Concord, NH (remote considered for very strong applicants only)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Minimum 15 years related experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineer with an active NCEES account and ability to obtain registration in additional states.
  • Experience with industrial power supply systems, DOD power distribution, EVSE, microgrids, solar energy, backup systems, and data centers is a plus.
  • Familiarity with non-manufacturing engineering consulting, environmental permitting, water treatment, and compliance projects is a plus.
  • Knowledge of analysis tools and modeling software for pipe and electrical systems; familiarity with CAD programs like AutoDesk Civil 3D, REVIT, and Plant3D is a plus.
  • Experience with construction bid evaluation, arc flash studies, and developing technical proposals.
  • Effective communication skills for report writing, proposals, and cost estimates.
  • Ability to manage subcontractors, vendors, and respond to client RFPs with technical and pricing proposals.
  • Leadership skills to supervise and direct engineering staff.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance for federal work.
  • Willingness to perform site visits and project walks with effective note-taking.

Compensation varies based on experience and qualifications.

Salary Range: $96,500 - $128,900 - $161,000
