Join to apply for the Sr. Mechanical Engineer role at Diamond Foundry

Diamond Foundry Inc. is solving the thermal limitation at the foundation of today's most exciting tech industries -- AI & cloud compute, electric-car power electronics, and 5G/6G wireless. We have managed to produce the world's first single-crystal diamond wafers and are now on a mission to put a diamond behind every chip. We are the rare unicorn that has grown fast and profitably. We received $515m in funding and are executing a multi-$B expansion plan for one of the greenest forms of tech manufacturing: converting greenhouse gas into diamond wafers using zero-emission energy.
We’re looking for an ambitious senior mechanical engineer to take responsibility for designing equipment and facilities systems, working across multiple engineering disciplines. You'll be working with an experienced team of mechanical and electrical engineers to take a pragmatic approach to equipment and facility design. You’ll be responsible for whole projects, pulling in the talents of others when needed.
Responsibilities

  • Designing, building, testing, and optimizing systems for high-volume vacuum manufacturing equipment
  • Prototyping and integration of new system functions to enhance existing equipment
  • Managing multiple suppliers to construct parts and assemblies on time and within budget
  • Effective communication skills and ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 5+ years of applicable engineering design and prototyping experience
  • The ideal candidate will possess experience in 2D and 3D CAD (such as AutoCAD and Solidworks), proficiency in PDM and/or PLM software and systems, experience with equipment design, including frames sheet metal and machine parts, piping design.
  • Knowledge of facilities systems and methods (including piping, gas systems, compressed air, etc.), and expertise in designing robust manufacturing facilities (layout, material flow, automation).
  • Strong analytical skills to investigate and come up with solutions across multiple systems within a facility
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
$110,000 - $150,000 a year
The position is eligible for company shares. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s job duties, experience, and expertise. We will also consider higher level candidates and salary will be adjusted accordingly.
