HARDWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER 2

THE ROLE:

We are looking for a talented, self-driven and motivated Board HW Design Engineer with a strong experience in design of Analog/RF/Mixed Signal/ high speed digital design boards to join the Central Products Group (CPG) Hardware Development team in San Jose, CA. You will be involved in the design of high performance, complex boards for some of the most advanced applications in 5G Wireless/IoT/AI/Machine Learning. You will have an opportunity to work in a positive environment where individual development goals are aligned with organizational goals in developing products for some of the life changing and futuristic applications.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate has excellent analytical skills, is detailed oriented and is comfortable working in a fast changing and dynamic environment. In addition, the candidate should be adaptable and able to function well in both small and large team settings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for HW design of board products using AMD (formerly Xilinx) ACAPs, FPGAs, MPSoCs, RFSoCs and other devices

Responsible for coordinating with SI/PI team, Layout team, NPI team, and various other teams for completing the board design distributed globally

Responsible for all aspects of board design and documentation of designs

Responsible for preparation of and implementing checklists for schematic design

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

HW design experience in Analog, RF and HSDD boards

Excellent experience in designing with interfaces like PCIe Gen3/4/5, Multi Gigabit serial buses, DDR4/LPDDR4, Flash, SPI, I2C and switching power supplies

Experience designing with AMD (formerly Xilinx) ACAPs, FPGAs, MPSoCs and/or RFSoCs a plus

Excellent hands-on knowledge of Cadence Allegro design entry and OrCAD tools

Excellent experience in bring-up testing and design validation testing of boards and in usage of high-speed oscilloscopes, and other lab instruments

Excellent analytical and debug skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Minimum of a BS with 2 years of exp or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related equivalent
