About the role
We are looking for an Engineering Manager with strong foundations and experience in simulation. You will help position Applied Intuition as the most advanced vehicle software supplier to the largest OEMs in the world. You will guide world-class software engineers developing high-fidelity simulation systems that help autonomous vehicle companies validate and verify their technology safely and efficiently. At Applied Intuition, you will:
- Lead and mentor a team of simulation software engineers, fostering their growth and professional development while maintaining high performance standards.
- Drive technical vision and strategy for our simulation platform, ensuring alignment with company goals and customer needs.
- Collaborate with product management to define roadmaps and priorities for simulation features and capabilities.
- Partner with customers to understand their simulation needs and translate them into technical requirements.
- Oversee the architecture and implementation of complex simulation systems, including physics engines, sensor models, and environmental simulation.
- Ensure code quality, testing practices, and technical documentation meet our high standards.
- Build and scale engineering processes that enable the team to deliver reliable simulation software.
- Participate in recruiting efforts to grow the simulation team with top talent.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role.
- Strong background in simulation, robotics, computer graphics, or related technical fields.
- Deep understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.
- Proven track record of delivering complex technical projects on schedule.
- Strong programming skills in C++ and/or Python.
- BS in Computer Science, Robotics, or related technical field (MS/PhD preferred).
Nice to have:
- Experience with autonomous vehicles, robotics, or other autonomous systems.
- Background in physics-based simulation, game engines, or real-time rendering.
- Familiarity with sensor simulation (cameras, LiDAR, radar) or object simulation (classical and ML-based planning, prediction, and controls) or related simulation.
- Track record of collaboration with customers in a technical role.
Compensation at Applied Intuition for eligible roles includes base salary, equity, and benefits. Base salary is a single component of the total compensation package, which may also include equity in the form of options and/or restricted stock units, comprehensive health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance coverage, 401k retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off.
The salary range for this position is $204,000 - $343,000 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the Company's compensation practices.
