Lead Install Technician

This position is responsible for the service and installation of car wash systems and related equipment. The role requires establishing and maintaining relationships with customers, co-workers, and sales representatives. The Install Lead manages the daily decisions of the installation team, including supervising installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment in the field to ensure quality and optimal usage. Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the installation of commercial car wash equipment, understanding electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Manage each installation project from delivery through to successful completion, ensuring timely delivery.
• Coordinate with onsite personnel, sales staff, and management to deliver high-quality, on-time projects.
• Make equipment recommendations based on site and customer needs.
• Review, prioritize, and organize all installations and projects.
• Forecast staffing needs and collaborate with the Install Manager to staff accordingly.
• Train and develop the installation team, leading by example.
• Communicate goals and expectations clearly to foster accountability.
• Ensure all policies and safety procedures are followed, maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
• Maintain confidentiality of customer information and company assets.
• Interact courteously and professionally with customers.
• Comply with safety codes and regulations, including OSHA.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required; technical school graduates, automotive technicians, fabricators, and installers preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of hands-on installation or construction experience.
• Background in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, welding, or construction trades preferred.
• Experience in electrical, automotive, HVAC, or welding fields is a plus.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
• Willingness to travel.
• Ability to work with power and hand tools.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

• Work environment typical of manufacturing and installation settings.
• Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments.
• Heavy lifting (over 30 pounds, up to 50 pounds for 100 feet).
• Use of safety PPE required, including eye protection, hearing protection, steel-toe shoes, and hardhats.
• Stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as needed.
• Visual acuity requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.

Materials and Equipment

Use of various power and hand tools, machinery, and safety equipment is required.

Candidates must pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment.
