JOB OVERVIEW
The Catering Manager is responsible for driving private event sales and overseeing the full planning and execution of all catered functions at the Jonathan Club Beach location. This includes prospecting and securing new business, preparing proposals and contracts, customizing menus, coordinating logistics, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional, luxury-caliber experiences to JC Members and guests. The position also manages internal member events, collaborates across departments, and supports club-wide initiatives that reinforce our hospitality and service standards.

JOB OVERVIEW
The Catering Manager is responsible for driving private event sales and overseeing the full planning and execution of all catered functions at the Jonathan Club Beach location. This includes prospecting and securing new business, preparing proposals and contracts, customizing menus, coordinating logistics, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional, luxury-caliber experiences to JC Members and guests. The position also manages internal member events, collaborates across departments, and supports club-wide initiatives that reinforce our hospitality and service standards.
SALES & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

  • Identify and pursue new catering leads, event business, and member-hosted celebrations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and club members.
  • Create detailed proposals and contracts based on client needs and budget.
  • Negotiate pricing and agreements to maximize profitability and member satisfaction.
  • Track weekly pipeline activity and generate booking reports.
  • Collaborate with Membership, Communications, and Operations teams to align events with engagement goals.
EVENT PLANNING & COORDINATION
  • Manage all event details, including menu design, diagrams, setup logistics, and vendor services.
  • Prepare and distribute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) in a timely manner.
  • Host venue tours and pre-event client meetings.
  • Lead internal pre-event briefings with service and culinary departments.
  • Ensure flawless execution by coordinating across all necessary departments (banquets, culinary, audio/visual, valet, security, housekeeping, etc.).
CLIENT COMMUNICATION & RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
  • Respond to member and guest inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Serve as the lead liaison throughout the planning process to event conclusion.
  • Maintain a luxury service standard with every interaction.
  • Build long-term relationships that drive repeat business and member loyalty.
OPERATIONS & CLUB INTEGRATION
  • Manage all in-house and member club events, working closely with internal departments.
  • Organize detailed event timelines, staffing notes, setup requirements, and billing.
  • Support special projects or calendar-based activations as assigned.
  • Coordinate and confirm all external vendor services (AV, florals, entertainment, etc.).
  • Uphold and reinforce Jonathan Club’s luxury brand and service promise.
ADMINISTRATIVE & FINANCIAL TASKS
  • Maintain accurate documentation for contracts, billing, event specs, and client records.
  • Ensure timely post-event reconciliation and billing follow-through.
  • Support Director of Catering with departmental planning, budgeting, and training efforts.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of relevant experience required.
  • Prior experience in private club, luxury hotel, or high-end catering strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, member-focused environment.
  • Working knowledge of event software systems (Tripleseat, Delphi, or similar).
  • Familiarity with luxury food and beverage trends, special dietary considerations, and upscale service delivery.
Physical & Schedule Requirements
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and be mobile for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays based on event needs.
Pay Range: $27/hour - $34/hour, based off experience
