The Biddinger Lab is seeking basic biologists interested in applying their expertise to a clinical problem.
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) affects over 25% of the population and can lead to liver cancer, cirrhosis, and metabolic diseases such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes. The basic biology of this disorder remains largely unknown, and there are no current treatments. Our lab uses techniques like Crispr screening, single nuclei sequencing, ChIP sequencing, mouse models, organoids, and stable isotope tracing to understand this disease. Requirements include a PhD in biological sciences, computational biology, or related fields; excellent references; and strong evidence of past productivity. We seek colleagues who enjoy solving complex problems and being creative. We welcome cell and molecular biologists, microscopists, and computational biologists who can bring new perspectives; prior experience with NAFLD is not necessary.
