- Advise Goldman Sachs Bank with respect to the TxB business to develop and implement innovative product solutions with respect to merchant acquiring, payments, and liquidity solutions
- Collaborate with global business teams and legal/compliance colleagues and other control functions
- Advise the business on relevant legal, regulatory and market developments
- Prepare and negotiate strategic alliances and client contractual documentation.
- Attend new product, line of defense, risk and control meetings
- Juris Doctor degree and licensed to practice law in the state in which the position is based
- 4-6+ years of experience at a law firm, in-house at a financial institution, technology or other financial services company or governmental or regulatory agency
- General knowledge of transaction banking, a plus
- Experience in technology and/or vendor management matters, a plus
- Background or demonstrated interest in fintech and digitization, a plus
- Excellent speaking and presentation skills with ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization including senior executives
- Highly responsive, with a strong sense of urgency, and project management skills
- Excellent time management skills, ability to handle multiple internal clients and projects
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
We work are looking for an intellectually-curious attorney to join the firm's Transaction Banking (TxB) Legal team. The attorney will provide U.S. based legal support of TxB’s merchant acquiring and payments businesses with a focus on product development, strategic alliances, regulatory advice, digitization and other matters. As a financial institution that continues to evolve and grow, businesses that are always focusing on the next opportunity and new technology, which introduce novel and challenging issues and projects.
This attorney will be required to proactively advise the firm on all aspects of innovation, development and commercialization of TxB products and services. The work includes serving as a Legal stakeholder, assisting in strategic projects, participating in large working groups, and drafting and negotiating alliance and client documentation. The position can be located in Dallas, TX, Wilmington, Delaware and/or Atlanta, GA.
