This client is not looking for individuals who just handle Real Estate Closings.
- Provide legal counsel to municipalities and other public sector clients on real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, easements, and zoning matters
- Draft, review, and negotiate real estate contracts, purchase and sale agreements, development agreements, and municipal land use documents
- Advise on regulatory compliance, permitting, title issues, and public procurement requirements
- Represent clients before local boards, commissions, and in public hearings
- Collaborate with other attorneys and departments within the firm to deliver comprehensive legal solutions
- Conduct legal research and provide written and oral opinions on real estate law and municipal matters
- Stay current with Massachusetts real estate and land use laws and their implications for public entities
About the Role:
A successful Boston-based law firm is seeking a highly experienced Real Estate Attorney to join their team in a full-time, onsite capacity. This role is ideal for a legal professional with 5–10+ years of experience, a strong background in real estate law, and a demonstrated ability to advise public sector clients. The successful candidate will work closely with cities, towns, and municipalities across Massachusetts, providing legal guidance on a variety of complex real estate and land use matters. This client is not looking for individuals who just handle Real Estate Closings.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel to municipalities and other public sector clients on real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, easements, and zoning matters
- Draft, review, and negotiate real estate contracts, purchase and sale agreements, development agreements, and municipal land use documents
- Advise on regulatory compliance, permitting, title issues, and public procurement requirements
- Represent clients before local boards, commissions, and in public hearings
- Collaborate with other attorneys and departments within the firm to deliver comprehensive legal solutions
- Conduct legal research and provide written and oral opinions on real estate law and municipal matters
- Stay current with Massachusetts real estate and land use laws and their implications for public entities
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active and in good standing with the Massachusetts Bar
- 5–10+ years of relevant legal experience, ideally with a focus on public sector or municipal real estate work
- Strong knowledge of Massachusetts real estate, zoning, and land use laws
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and interact with public officials and stakeholders
- Commitment to onsite work at our Boston office, Monday through Friday
