Duties
- Oversee and manage all aspects of tax credit transactions, including structuring, negotiation, and execution.
- Review and analyze financial projections to ensure compliance and alignment with client goals.
- Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, including tax equity agreements, loan documents, and legal opinions.
- Conduct thorough due diligence to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Act as a primary or supporting counsel during client consultations and project management.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of transactions.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in a law firm environment specializing in historic and renewable energy tax credits.
- Proven ability to independently manage complex transactions and provide strategic legal advice.
- Strong track record of drafting and negotiating legal and financial documents.
- Demonstrated project management and problem-solving skills in high-pressure scenarios.
Education
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited, nationally recognized law school.
Certifications
- Admission to the Bar in Illinois or eligibility for prompt admission.
