Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Robotics Technical Product Manager to own the vision, strategy, and execution of our next-generation tactile sensing products. This is a critical role that sits at the intersection of market strategy, customer needs, and deep technology. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of market intelligence, technical expertise in tactile sensing, and a proven ability to guide a product from concept to commercial success. You will be the champion of the product, responsible for translating complex market requirements into a clear and actionable roadmap for our engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Vision & Strategy: Develop, own, and champion a compelling product vision and long-term strategy for our tactile sensing solutions, grounded in a deep understanding of market dynamics, competitive landscape, and major industry players.
- Roadmap & Prioritization: Create, maintain, and communicate the product roadmap. You will own the prioritization of features, enhancements, and technical development, making data-driven trade-offs to maximize customer value and strategic alignment.
- Market & Technical Requirements: Conduct comprehensive market research and build strong relationships with customers to identify and intimately understand their use cases. Translate these insights into clear, detailed, and accurate Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), user stories, and technical specifications.
- Customer & Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary voice of the customer within the organization. Build and foster strong relationships with key customers, technology partners, and internal stakeholders (Engineering, Sales, Marketing) to gather critical feedback, validate product concepts, and drive adoption.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Serve as the central hub for the product, ensuring seamless collaboration and communication between hardware engineering, software development, research, and business teams. You will ensure the engineering team has the clarity and context needed to build the right product.
- Full Lifecycle Ownership: Shepherd the product through its entire lifecycle, from initial concept and feasibility studies, through prototyping and development, to the delivery of first articles and successful market launch.
- Market Intelligence: Continuously analyze the competitive landscape, monitor emerging trends in robotics and sensing technology, and identify new market opportunities to ensure our product remains a category leader.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a closely related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in technical product management, product development, or a similar role within the robotics, automation, or high-tech hardware industry.
- Demonstrated deep technical expertise in sensing technologies, with a specific and strong understanding of tactile sensing principles, including both large-area and high-resolution sensing.
- Proven track record of taking a complex technology product from concept/ideation through to first articles and market launch.
- Verifiable experience managing products that required the tight integration of hardware and embedded software.
- You demonstrate a relentless focus on the customer, with a knack for uncovering their core problems and translating that insight into a clear, actionable roadmap for your engineering team.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and effectively articulate a product vision to both technical and non-technical audiences. You’re a natural product evangelist.
- You thrive on making the tough calls . You know how to ruthlessly prioritize, using a sharp, analytical mindset to make the critical trade-off decisions that drive a product forward.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Robotics, Haptics, or a related field.
- Direct experience working in industrial automation, collaborative robotics, or medical robotics sectors.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Familiarity with product management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Aha!, etc.).
- Experience with go-to-market strategy, product pricing, and positioning.
